School Trustees approve Expansion Goal
The $18.5 million building program that was approved by the Rosemont School Board of Trustees completely transformed our campus. You'll notice the capital additions and improvements - but even more important are the program enhancements that our building campaign created. Behind the scenes, we've been busy raising major gifts. Currently, we have raised more than $8.3 million. We're proud to report the exceptional news that this includes three pledges of $1 million each. |
Rosemont School Growth Vital for Future In early 2001, the Board of Trustees commissioned ISM, a Delaware-based independent school management consulting firm, to do a space analysis for our School. As a result of this survey ISM made one thing very clear: Our vision for the future of Rosemont School could not come to fruition without making significant improvements to our facilities. Starting in September 2002, over 60 members of the school community - parents past and present, alumni, Sisters of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, trustees, faculty and administration - participated in a strategic planning process to articulate this vision for Rosemont School's future. An important part of the plan is understanding that buildings and grounds create a vital backdrop for the School's mission. Rosemont School's facilities must support the education of the whole child - soul and body, mind and heart. While our lovely, historic Tudor building will remain the familiar center of school life, new construction and additional land acquisition will help us meet the needs of the future. We completed our new gymnasium and an all-weather turf field to augment our athletic offerings. By late fall 2008, we moved the Early Childhood Program closer to our older students, allowing our 3-, 4-and 5-year-olds to forge stronger ties to the School, while maintaining their unique identity. We created a more distinct community for our Middle Schoolers to help them meet the new challenges of adolescence. Our school is scheduled to grow to about 40 students above our current enrollment of 322. Each grade will consist of two homerooms of approximately 17 students apiece. All these changes will enhance our students' education - because that's why we're here. |
