What is the Book Fair?
The Book Fair is a fun event to encourage a love of reading and also serves as a fundraiser for RSHC. The three-day activity begins on Monday, October 25 with featured author, Leslie A. Susskind, visiting with the children during the school day.

At the Book Fair Author's Reception on Monday, October 25 from 6 to 8 p.m., parents and children are invited to enjoy refreshments, purchase books and meet the author.

Thousands of books are displayed in the Multipurpose Room and are available for purchase during the reception, all day Tuesday and half day on Wednesday. The books are organized by category (e.g. “Grades 1-3”, “Sports”) and there are books for babies through teens and adults. Children's Book World in Haverford, an independent book seller, supplies our inventory. RSHC receives 20% of the proceeds of all books sold.

Sarah Todd from Children's Book World will be visiting classes just before the Book Fair to discuss the latest books with the students and to offer suggested reading lists.

Grades PreK through 8 come to the MPR at pre-arranged visitation times on Tuesday and Wednesday to browse and purchase books. A schedule will be published prior to the Book Fair to enable parents to join their children if they wish, since younger students often need help making selections.

Books may be purchased with cash or check, or with a pre-paid coupon. A coupon is especially convenient for younger students so they won't have to carry cash and allows parents to set a dollar limit for purchases. Usually $20 to $25 is sufficient for younger children. Click here for the coupon order form.

Look for more details in future Tuesday Morning notices. Volunteers are needed to help with setup, cleanup and during Book Fair hours when classes visit. To volunteer, or if you have any questions, please contact one of the co-chairs:
